Mesquite Powder

Native to southwestern United States and Mexico, mesquite trees are hardy and deep-rooted, producing long seed pods. The pods are harvested and the beans removed, to be ground up to make powder. This powder can be used as a flour, and being gluten-free, it is a tremendous boon to anyone who must steer clear of gluten! Mesquite has a rich taste, similar to that of caramel.
